We use it every day and most of us are even hooked on it! Yet, when we consider social media in marketing, there is so much new stuff that we see every minute. New trends, new ways of reaching people, better strategies and so much more is constantly happening. Hashtags may not be new, but the amount of weight they have given to social sites like Instagram and Twitter is incomparable. With a single hashtag, one can join hands with so many in the same group all over the world. Also, at times unknowingly using hashtags have also lead to adding increased visibility.

  1. ‘Stories’ will keep you on the top more than posts will:

Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp now have a brand new feature – sharing quick updates in the form of ‘stories’. It can be used to share information that is not as essential to being put in a post and it disappears within 24 hours unless otherwise retained. Thus, stories feature on the top of most of these platforms and have managed to capture interests of followers even better than real feed/posts/content. Going this way and connecting with your audience in real time is definitely a splendid marketing technique.

  1. Create videos with good music:

Videos are the new content. People may not have time to read blogs or even posts but a video that features the same content may grab their attention. To make it truly stand out, work on adding appropriate audio to it as well. According to a study, 80% of users said they’d rather watch a live video than read a blog post, while according to Facebook, the live video gets 3 times more views than regular video content. Thus, targeting video content can be really big and vital too.

  1. Ensure your posts and feed is sharable:

With a good follower base, it is given that your feed will get noticed. However, what would work out even better is encouraging people to ‘share’ or ‘re-tweet’ what you post to get more visibility. This is also possible only when your posts are public and easily shareable, so ensure you do so before going ahead.
