Microsoft Corp. and Oracle Corp. proclaimed a partnership that will enable their cloud services to work together, delivering excellent and seamless connectivity between the two clouds. With the integration, the companies also launched a new set of capabilities for their customers. This comes as a consolidated move against Amazon’s AWS.

The move comes as both Oracle and Microsoft are courting large businesses and government customers considering moving computing tasks currently handled in their own data centers to cloud providers. AWS, the largest cloud computing provider, is encroaching on many of those customers, including in Oracle’s historical stronghold in the database market. (Reuters)

Scott Guthrie, executive vice president of Microsoft’s Cloud and AI division said in a statement- “As the cloud of choice for the enterprise, with over 95% of the Fortune 500 using Azure, we have always been first and foremost focused on helping our customers thrive on their digital transformation journeys. With Oracle’s enterprise expertise, this alliance is a natural choice for us as we help our joint customers accelerate the migration of enterprise applications and databases to the public cloud.”

The  link-up between the two cloud computing services- Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud will give an immensely optimized experience for their customers as both the companies want to make the digital transformation easy for their clients. This also implies that the users will be able to migrate the whole set of existing apps to the cloud seamlessly.
